History
The history of today’s Omya Benelux office began in the 1980s. During the 80s, Omya was represented in the Benelux market by Omya Belgium (Brussels) and Omya Boekamp (Gouda, NL), between whom the co-operation gradually grew stronger. At the same time the Belgian production plant Crayčres, Cimenteries et Fours ā Chaux (CCC) in Harmignies and, soon after, the production plant Norwegian Talc Holland in Amsterdam were taken over by Omya.
In 1995, the Dutch and the Belgian offices finally merged into Omya Benelux with its headquarters in Brussels. In the same year a tank farm was built in Moerdijk, completed sometime later by a PCC plant. In the end of the 1990s Omya Benelux had integrated all commercial and administrative activities of CCC and Norwegian Talc into the Brussels office.
In 2004, Omya's subsidiaries in Belgium merged under the name SA Omya Benelux N.V. The dutch subsidiaries Omya Beheer B.V. and Norwegian Talc (Holland) B.V. legally merged in 2006. The merged Company continues under the name of Omya Netherlands B.V.
